Licensing Policy

The Indus Journal of Medical and Health Sciences (IJMHS) is an open-access journal. All published articles are made freely available to the public to read, download, copy, and distribute for lawful purposes under a clear, standardized license.

Copyright and Licensing Policy

Authors retain the copyright to their work. By submitting to IJMHS, authors grant the journal a non-exclusive license to publish, archive, and distribute their article while preserving their moral rights as original creators.

Standard Open Access Licensing

To promote broad dissemination and consistent reuse of scholarly content, IJMHS publishes all articles under the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-ShareAlike 4.0 International (CC BY-NC-SA 4.0) license.

License Terms Explained

Under the CC BY-NC-SA 4.0 license:

  • Attribution (BY): Anyone must give appropriate credit to the authors and IJMHS, provide a link to the license, and indicate if changes were made.

  • NonCommercial (NC): The material may not be used for commercial purposes.

  • ShareAlike (SA): If the work is adapted or built upon, the new creation must be distributed under the same license as the original.

This means users are free to:

  1. Share — copy and redistribute the material in any medium or format.

  2. Adapt — remix, transform, and build upon the material.

However, these freedoms come with the conditions listed above, which ensure that authors receive proper credit, the content remains non-commercial, and adaptations stay open under identical terms.

Author Reuse Rights

Authors may:

  • Republish their article on personal websites, institutional repositories, or academic platforms (e.g., ResearchGate, Academia.edu, Google Scholar).

  • Include the work in teaching materials, conference presentations, theses, or books with proper citation.

  • Share copies with colleagues for academic discussion or peer collaboration.

Commercial Use

Any commercial reuse of the published article requires explicit written permission from the IJMHS editorial office.

Why CC BY-NC-SA?

This license balances open access with responsible reuse. It encourages educational and research use while protecting authors’ and the journal’s rights against unauthorized commercial exploitation. It also fosters a collaborative academic ecosystem where adaptations remain freely available under the same open terms.

For licensing inquiries or commercial permission requests, please contact the editorial office through the journal's official website.
