Abstract

An essential paradigm shift that has the potential to greatly improve patient outcomes and widen the scope of perioperative treatment is the incorporation of public health ideas into anaesthesia practise. This study explores the interconnectedness of anaesthesia and public health, emphasising how population-based, preventative, and promotional strategies may enhance patient safety, enhance surgical results, and reduce healthcare inequities. Anaesthesia professionals may play a transforming role in reducing perioperative problems and promoting overall patient wellbeing by using epidemiological information, immunisation tactics, infection control measures, and health education campaigns. Combining public health tactics with clinical knowledge results in a holistic framework that not only caters to individual needs but also strengthens the social fabric of a community. In order to promote a more adaptable and patient-centered approach to perioperative care, this study emphasises the necessity and advantages of incorporating public health ideas into anaesthesia practise.
